MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082767 A) filed by Sr University on July 06, 2026, for Pedestrian Detection And Adaptive Traffic Signal Management System And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Johnson Kolluri; and Ravula Vidya Sri.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: PEDESTRIAN DETECTION AND ADPTIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF ABSTRACT A pedestrian detection and adaptive traffic signal management system (100) is disclosed. The system (100) comprising a camera (102) to capture visible-spectrum pedestrian environment data; an infrared sensor (104) to capture thermal pedestrian environment data; a LiDAR sensor (106) to generate depth information associated with pedestrians, vehicles, and roadside structures; a storage unit (108) to store pedestrian flow information, traffic behavior information, and historical crossing activity information. The system (100) is configured to preprocess the received pedestrian data; perform multimodal fusion of the visible-spectrum; execute an artificial intelligence model; perform pedestrian detection operations; determine adaptive traffic signal timing; generate pedestrian safety alerts; and analyze historical pedestrian flow information. Claims: 10, Figures: 4 Figure 1 is selected.
