MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064142 A) filed by Bharathiar University on May 21, 2026, for Perovskite Solar Cell For Energy Harvesting And Its Method Thereof.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The perovskite solar cell [100] for broadband energy harvesting comprises of a plurality of stacked layers not limited to FTO [ 1 06], a compact layer of Titanium dioxide (c-TiOz) [105], a mesoporous electron transport layer [104] of titanium dioxide, a photoactive perovskite layer [103] oftri-cation mixed halide material, a hole transport layer [1 02] of spiro-OMeT AD organic material and a metal contact layer [ l 0 I]. The method of developing the modified hybrid based perovskite solar cell [ 1 00] lies in the fabrication of the electron transport layer [I 04]. The mesoporous electron transport layer of titanium dioxide [I 04] is modified by adding up-converters ofY z03: Yb, Erin the TiOz layer at four different weight percentages (1-7% wt). The up-converters in the cell promotes the photon absorption in the active layer by converting near-infrared photons into visible photons. This enhances the absorption efficiency not limited to the range from 7 to 13 %. 2026410
