MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611040506 A) filed by Galgotias University on March 31, 2026, for Ph-Sensitive Nanocapsules For Sweat-Triggered Essential Oil Release.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pH-sensitive nanocapsule system designed for sweat-triggered controlled release of essential oils. The nanocapsules comprise an essential oil core encapsulated within a polymeric shell made of pH-responsive materials and stabilized by crosslinking agents. The system remains stable under dry conditions and releases the encapsulated essential oils upon exposure to sweat-induced changes in pH and hydration. The invention provides enhanced antimicrobial activity, improved stability of essential oils, and efficient utilization of active compounds, making it suitable for applications in personal care, biomedical, and textile industries.
