MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647091169 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on July 27, 2026, for Physical Broadcast Channel (pbch)-Based Positioning, Sensing, And/Or Channel Estimation.
Inventors include Manolakos, Alexandros; Opshaug, Guttorm Ringstad; and Ly, Hung Dinh.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may obtain first one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) payload predictions associated with a first physical cell identity (PCI) of a transmission-reception point (TRP). The UE may receive a first signal transmission that carries a first synchronization signal block (SSB) associated with the first PCI, the first SSB including a first PBCH payload. The UE may estimate a time of arrival (ToA) of the first signal transmission, a time of transmission (ToT) between the TRP and the UE, a directional relationship between the TRP and the UE, ranging or motion information of the UE with respect to the TRP, or a combination thereof, based on the first signal transmission and at least one of the first one or more PBCH payload predictions.
