Abstract: The present invention relates to a phytochemical-assisted system and method for synthesis, optimization, characterization, and topical delivery of gold nanoparticles incorporating bioactive constituents derived from Ichnocarpus frutescens. The invention utilizes a gold precursor solution and plant-derived phytochemicals functioning as reducing, capping, and stabilizing agents for nanoparticle formation. Process parameters including reaction temperature, incubation period, and plant extract concentration are optimized through statistical experimental design to obtain nanoparticles having controlled particle size, entrapment efficiency, colloidal stability, and uniform distribution. The optimized nanoparticles exhibit particle sizes in the nanoscale range, high entrapment efficiency, negative zeta potential, and low polydispersity index. The synthesized nanoparticles are suitable for incorporation into topical pharmaceutical, dermatological, wound healing, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cosmeceutical formulations. The invention further provides a reproducible, environmentally sustainable, and scalable platform for herbal nanoparticle production suitable for topical administration.
