Abstract: “Phytochemical-Assisted synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles via Mixed Reverse Micelle Solvothermal Synthesis” The present invention relates to a solvent- controlled phytochemical-assisted method for band gap engineering and tailored nanocomposite adsorbent preparation using zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles through a green solvothermal synthesis approach. The method utilizes plant-derived phytochemicals extracted from Prosopis juliflora leaves in combination with a surfactant system to form mixed reverse micelles that act as nanoscale reactors for controlled nucleation and growth of ZnO nanoparticles. The synthesized nanoparticles can be incorporated into nanocomposites, such as activated carbon–ZnO systems, for applications including wastewater treatment, pollutant adsorption, photocatalysis, and semiconductor technologies.
