Abstract: The present invention achieves a pipe joining device that makes it possible to determine, during an operation for joining an insertion port of a pipe and a socket of a joining target pipe, abnormal joining between the insertion port of the pipe and the socket of the joining target pipe, and efficiently perform the joining operation. A pipe joining device 1 comprises: a joining target pipe attachment part that is attached to the socket side of a joining target pipe; a pair of pipe gripping parts 31, 32 that grip the insertion port side of a pipe; a movement part 36 that moves the pair of pipe gripping parts 31, 32 in an axial direction so as to join, in the axial direction, an insertion port of the pipe and a socket of the joining target pipe; a drive force detection part 61 that detects a drive force of the movement part 36 when the pair of pipe gripping parts 31, 32 are moved in the axial direction; and a determination part 71 that determines the joining state between the insertion port of the pipe and the socket of the joining target pipe on the basis of the drive force of the movement part 36 detected by the drive force detection part 61.
