Inventors include Dr. Arpita Roy; Dr. Shoib Ahmad Baba; Dr. Mohammad Arshad; and Dr. Kavita Khatana Bhati.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: [0043] The present invention provides a plant extract mediated nanoparticle system for therapeutic drug delivery. A selected plant extract containing naturally occurring phytochemicals is utilized as a biological reducing, stabilizing, and/or capping medium for nanoparticle formation. A therapeutic drug is subsequently encapsulated, entrapped, adsorbed, or otherwise associated with the nanoparticles. The resulting formulation is characterized for particle size, morphology, surface charge, drug- loading efficiency, stability, and release behaviour. The nanoparticles provide a platform for protecting therapeutic agents and regulating their release in a biological environment. The system integrates biologically mediated nanoparticle synthesis with therapeutic-drug incorporation and controlled delivery, thereby providing a versatile platform for developing nanoparticle-based pharmaceutical formulations.
