MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641083135 A) filed by Kongu Engineering College on July 06, 2026, for Plantar-Pressure Monitoring And Localized Vibration-Feedback Insole Apparatus.

Inventors include Sivapriya G; Pavithra M; Ananda Gokulan K; and Dharshini S.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: A plantar-pressure monitoring and feedback insole apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a sensorized insole body (102) having a plantar pressure sensor array (104) including seven force-sensitive pressure sensors positioned at pressure sensing regions (106) corresponding to metatarsal-head regions, heel regions, a great-toe region and a lateral plantar region. A signal conditioning circuit (108) receives pressure signals and supplies conditioned pressure information to an embedded processing unit (110). The embedded processing unit (110) forms a multi-region plantar-pressure pattern, identifies a localized elevated-pressure region and locally evaluates the pressure pattern through a pressure-pattern classification module (112). A vibration feedback unit (114) having vibration actuators (116) selectively provides tactile feedback at a corresponding elevated-pressure region. A wireless communication module (118) communicates pressure-distribution information generated by a pedobarographic pressure-distribution generation module (122) to a mobile display interface (120). A power supply unit (124), rechargeable battery unit (126) and charging interface (128) power the apparatus.
