Abstract: The present invention relates to a plug connector (1) having a plug connector housing (70), an operating element (39) which can be moved from a first position (P1) to a second position (P2) for reducing operating force, in particular a lever (40) and/or a slide, which has a blocking element (90) which can be moved between an idle position (R1) and a shifted position (R2), wherein the plug connector (1) is designed to block a moving of the operating element (39) from the first position (P1) into the second position (P2) when the blocking element (90) is in the idle position (R1), and not to block a moving of the operating element (39) when the blocking element (90) is in the shifted position (R2), wherein the blocking element (90) has a blocking portion (93) which engages with a latching portion (100) on an outer side of the plug connector housing (70) when the operating element (39) is in the first position (P1) and the blocking element (90) is in the idle position (R1).
