Abstract: An implantable conductive stent is disclosed. The stent comprises a conductive stent body configured to develop an induced electrical potential when exposed to a varying electromagnetic field, and a directional conduction element associated with the stent body and configured to permit electrical current flow preferentially in one direction. In certain embodiments, the directional conduction element comprises a diode, rectifier, or junction integrated into the stent structure. In further embodiments, two conductive stents having opposite directional conduction orientations are provided so that the stents respond differently to opposite induced polarities, thereby enabling selective response at different implantation sites.
