Abstract: ABSTRACT POLY HERBAL YIELD PROMOTING ORGANIC FUMIGATION CAKE The present invention relates to the preparation of novel polyherbal yield-promoting organic fumigation cake for environmentally friendly pest management and a boost in agricultural productivity. The present invention is a combination of traditional ayurvedic knowledge and the present agricultural requirements, which is a sustainable substitute for synthetic chemical fumigants and pesticides prepared from natural ingredients of plant origin and cow products. The formulation is made up of powdered herbal drugs like Embelia ribes (Vidang), Hemidesmus indicus (Sariva), and Holarrhena antidysenterica (Kutaj) pollens, cow ghee, cow milk, and natural honey as binders and carriers for controlled release of bioactive compounds. The ingredients are known to have insecticidal, antimicrobial, antifungal, and bio-repelling properties, and they act synergistically to contribute to the efficacy of the formulation. The fumigation cake is prepared by the usual process of powdering, mixing, and molding into cakes, which are dried in the air to facilitate application and long-lasting activity. The cake, when burned or heated, releases vapors rich in phytochemicals which have an effect on airborne and soil-borne pathogens like bacteria, fungi, and viruses, and purify the agricultural environment, thus reducing pest infestation. The raw materials and the finished products were subjected to an organoleptic, physicochemical, and GC-MS analysis. The biological activity is justified by the confirmation of several bioactive compounds, such as fatty acids, nitrogen heterocycles, and antimicrobial volatiles. It is a powerful antimicrobial, antifungal, insect repellent, and fumigant. It also helps in improving soil fertility, promotes the growth of beneficial microbes, and improves plant growth and yield. The developed formulation is biodegradable and non-toxic to humans, animals, and beneficial organisms, unlike conventional chemical fumigants, and does not contribute to environmental pollution and pesticide resistance.
