MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527104063 A) filed by Soquimat Spa on October 29, 2025, for Polymer Matrix-Modifying Composition With Anti-Corrosive, Biocidal And Mechanical Property-Enhancing Properties.

Abstract: The invention relates to a polymer matrix-modifying composition with anti-corrosive, biocidal and mechanical property-enhancing properties that comprises between 50 and 99% of an organic fraction consisting of lignin, which is selected from organosolv lignin, Kraft lignin, soda lignin and/or the derivatives thereof; between 1 and 40% of bivalent or trivalent inorganic cations; and between 0 and 10% of formulation auxiliaries. The invention further relates to a production method and use thereof for providing anti-corrosive, biocidal and/or mechanical property-enhancing properties to polymer matrices when the composition is homogeneously mixed with the polymer matrix before it is cured, in a final proportion of between 0.1 and 5% w/w relative to the polymer matrix.
