Abstract: The present disclosure relates to portable field toxicological analysis. The portable apparatus (102) integrates a sample preparation cartridge (104) and an ion mobility spectrometer (106) within a single housing (208), enabling point-of-collection analysis of biological fluid samples. The sample preparation cartridge (104) sequentially performs sample loading, matrix washing, and analyte elution to deliver an analyte-enriched eluate directly to the ion mobility spectrometer (106). The ion mobility spectrometer (106) produces a two-dimensional spectrum from the eluate. A hardware processor (108) controls the sample preparation cartridge (104), acquires the two-dimensional spectrum, and compares it against stored reference spectral data to identify controlled substances present in the biological fluid sample. The hardware processor (108) generates a toxicology report identifying detected controlled substances and corresponding concentration values. The apparatus (102) provides rapid, accurate toxicological screening without laboratory infrastructure, supporting immediate field deployment. FIG. 1
