MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611065214 A) filed by Sharda University on May 23, 2026, for Portable Fingerprint Collection Kit.

Inventors include Dr. Himanshu Yadav; and Dr. Lalit Pratap Chandravanshi.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a portable fingerprint collection kit comprising a handheld housing having an internal storage region and a light- emitting end. An ultraviolet illumination unit is mounted at the light-emitting end for illuminating a surface during detection of a latent fingerprint. A power supply chamber is formed in the handheld housing and is electrically connected to the ultraviolet illumination unit. The handheld housing further comprises a powder chamber for storing fingerprint development powder, a brush holder for retaining a fingerprint development brush, and a lifting tape chamber for storing fingerprint lifting tape. A cover assembly is coupled to the handheld housing and closes the powder chamber, the brush holder, and the lifting tape chamber.
