MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631088474 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Patna on July 20, 2026, for Portable Plasmonic Sensing Device And Method Of Fabrication Thereof.
Inventors include Paul, Aniruddha; and Gayatri, Chavda.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: A portable plasmonic sensing device and method of fabrication thereof is provided. The portable plasmonic sensing device includes a solid substrate having immobilized gold nanotriangles (Au NTs) functionalized with a fluorophore-appended thiolated ligand. The substrate-based architecture of the portable plasmonic sensing device provides improved stability, longer shelf life, and portability while minimizing nanoparticle aggregation and solution-related interferences. The portable plasmonic sensing device is configured to detect acidic species in both vapor and liquid phases and real samples, making it suitable for environmental monitoring, industrial safety, food quality assessment, laboratory analysis, and real-time on-field applications. The disclosure integrates UV-visible absorption and fluorescence responses providing the dual confirmation of detection and thereby enhanced reliability of the method.
