MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411100473 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited on December 18, 2024, for Portable Residual Current Device (prcd) With True Contact Indication.
Inventors include Deshpande, Vaibhavi Shailendra; Mohit; Donthula, Vineeth; and Velusamy, Pradeepkumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a switching mechanism (200) of portable residual current device (PRCD) (100) includes a housing (102) with earth (112-1), line (112- 2), and neutral (112-3) pins to control current flow. The moving contact assembly (202) establishes or interrupts the electrical connection, guided by the moving contact support (204). A solenoid (214) generates an electromagnetic field to actuate a moving core (206), controlling switching. A solenoid spring (212) with hooks (608-1, 608-2) restores the moving core (206) to a default position in the OFF state, disengaging the contact assembly (202), and allowing engagement with fixed contacts (304) in the ON state. A contact indication flag (210), positioned between a bobbin (216) and the moving contact support (204), includes pivoted legs (506) and sliding arms (508) that engage projections (502) to propagate motion, ensuring accurate contact position indication.
