Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to pre-configuration for dynamic traffic characteristic change. In one aspect, a first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus, flow information, first information of at least one traffic characteristic change and at least one configuration. The at least one configuration corresponds to the at least one traffic characteristic change, respectively. The first apparatus determines a third apparatus to perform packet marking for a flow associated with the flow information in the case of a traffic characteristic change among the at least one traffic characteristic change. In this way, notification of the traffic characteristic change may be achieved by the third apparatus performing packet marking and enhancements for dynamic traffic characteristic change may thus be achieved.
