MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641125335 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on October 21, 2026, for Pre-Conversion Sensor Integrity Monitoring System And Method.
Inventors include Jagadeesan S; and M S Shabreena.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a sensing system and method in which the integrity of a sensor and its analog path is evaluated beforeanalog-to-digital conversion. Apre-ADC integrity fabric (108) between a primary sensing element (102) and an ADC (122) injects a low-amplitude diagnostic stimulus at several frequencies, measures path impedance magnitude and phase, and monitors slew rate and noise. An analog health vector generator (110) combines these deviations from a healthy baseline, with a cross-domain plausibility result (112), into a graded health state. In a critical state, an analog switching network (116) isolates the primary path before the ADC and connects a fallback path from an ultra-low-power shadow sensor (104). A controller (118) classifies the fault and executes a fault-specific recovery, re- interrogates the path to form a recovery-response fingerprint (120), and restores the primary path only when the fingerprint matches the baseline.
