MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421083220 A) filed by Jsw Steel Coated Products Limited; and Jsw Paints Limited on October 30, 2024, for Prepainted Sheet Metal With Thermochromic Coatings.
Inventors include Mamata Pradhan; Mukesh Srivastava; Sandeep Kokane; Paragkumar Thanki; Anurag Sharma; and Jayesh Thakare.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: Prepainted sheet metal with Thermochromic coatings A thermochromic coating formulations including polyester based paint systems, coating materials, and coated substrates thereof are provided suitable for coating prepainted metal sheets/ varies appliances and equipments drawn out of such sheet suiting outdoor and indoor applications preferably indoor applications and a method of manufacturing thereof. Most importantly, said coating formulation shows facile industrial applicability in not only being curable at peak metal temperature ranging from 224 deg. C – 232 deg. C in continuous coating line, but also is adaptive to required durability together with demonstrating completely reversible color change response when thermally radiated including sunlight. The change in color phenomena of the coated sheets with temperature makes it suitable to manufacture devices for an element of safety and for attractive equipment from aesthetic point of view and the like.
