Abstract: TITLE: PRESSURE PLATE OF A SPRING BRAKE ACTUATOR AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF ABSTRACT 5 A pressure plate (100) and a method (200, 300) for manufacturing the pressure plate (100) of a spring brake actuator (500) is disclosed. The pressure plate (100) is formed from a workpiece (10) made of sheet metal. The pressure plate includes a spring seat portion (1) formed in one of a major surface (2) of the workpiece (10). Further, a spring support (5) is formed in the major surface (2) of the workpiece 10 (10). The pressure plate further includes a dome (7) formed at a central portion (8) of the workpiece (10). At least a portion of the dome (7) is elevated relative to the spring support (5) to define a locking provision (11) that is structured to removably receive a caging bolt (12). The pressure plate, by virtue of being formed from sheet metal, eliminates the requirement of conventional casting process involved in 15 manufacturing of the pressure plate.
