Abstract: ABSTRACT PROCESS FOR PREPARING A CARBON DOT AND REDUCED GRAPHENE OXIDE REINFORCED VANADIUM PENTOXIDE TERNARY COMPOSITE The present disclosure relates to a carbon dot and reduced graphene oxide reinforced vanadium pentoxide ternary composite and a process for preparing the same. Orthorhombic vanadium pentoxide nanoparticles are synthesized from ammonium metavanadate using urea as a combustion fuel. Carbon dots are prepared from a ginger-derived biochar precursor by carbonization followed by heat treatment. Reduced graphene oxide is prepared from table sugar by furnace heating. The three components are dispersed in a liquid medium, ultrasonicated, and magnetically stirred so that the vanadium pentoxide nanoparticles are anchored onto the reduced graphene oxide sheets bearing the carbon dots. The composite is recovered by filtration and drying. The composite retains the orthorhombic phase without impurity phases and is useful for energy storage, latent fingerprint visualization, and electrochemical dopamine detection.
