Abstract: PROCESS FOR PREPARING HYDRAULIC FRACTURING FLUID USING PRODUCED WATER ABSTRACT Provided herein is a method of preparing a hydraulic fracturing fluid using produced water. The method comprising the steps of (a) performing an elemental analysis of collected produced water (b) treating the produced water based on results of the elemental analysis by (i) adding a non-emulsifier to the produced water (ii) subjecting the produced water to mechanical filtration using a 100 to 325 mesh filter (iii) adding a bactericide aldehyde to the produced water (iv) adding citric acid to the produced water (v) adding an eco-friendly de-foaming agent to the produced water to obtain a base fluid and (c) adding one or more hydraulic fracturing additives to the base fluid to obtain the hydraulic fracturing fluid. The one or more hydraulic fracturing additives are selected from a group comprising of a buffering agent, a guar-based gelling agent, a cross-linker, a gel breaker and optionally a non-emulsifier.
