Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a process-oriented human-centric intelligent manufacturing system comprising a manufacturing machine with an adjustable machine-setting member, a machine-interface assembly mechanically coupled to the adjustable machine-setting member, a data repository, a processor and a memory. The machine- interface assembly acquires setting states and operator-initiated adjustment events during successive manufacturing operations. The data repository stores a process- competency map that associates a manufacturing process with a competency requirement and a reference setting condition. The processor compares the acquired setting states with the reference setting condition, determines an operator competency status, identifies a competency gap and determines a process-readiness state from repeated satisfaction of the reference setting condition. The processor further generates a transformation-readiness output for progressive introduction of a digital or automated manufacturing operation.
