Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a process-competency control system comprising a corrugated-box manufacturing machine and a dedicated terminal coupled thereto. The terminal comprises a worker-identification interface, a process-operation map, a responsibility repository and a machine-control output. A process-condition record associates an adjustment of an adjustable machine function with a worker identifier, a physical manufacturing operation and a verification condition. A processing unit determines adjustment authority from the worker identifier and the physical manufacturing operation and permits or blocks the adjustment through the machine-control output. The processing unit changes a validity state of the process-condition record upon detection of an intervening physical event affecting the verification condition, receives a physical-condition result from a subsequent manufacturing operation and releases or restricts a subsequent adjustable machine function according to the validity state and the physical-condition result.
