More specifically, the present invention relates to a process for the purification of optically active dibenzoyltartaric acid salt of finerenone which substantially eliminates its undesired enantiomers i.e. R-isomer along with the potential impurities which are formed during the synthetic process from the raw materials, solvents, intermediates.
