Abstract: The present invention relates to a quantum-secure AI-based IoT communication gateway with blockchain authentication for next-generation smart infrastructure. The gateway comprises a multi-protocol communication interface, quantum-resistant cryptographic subsystem, blockchain-based device authentication subsystem, AI security engine, edge processing subsystem, adaptive policy engine, and key management subsystem. The gateway securely connects heterogeneous IoT devices with smart infrastructure platforms by verifying device identities through a distributed ledger and establishing protected communication using quantum-resistant cryptographic mechanisms. The AI security engine generates behavioral profiles from communication characteristics and identifies deviations indicative of unauthorized activity, device compromise, or abnormal network behavior. Based on authentication status, behavioral risk, device role, operational context, and infrastructure policies, the adaptive policy engine dynamically permits, restricts, challenges, monitors, or isolates communication. Edge-based processing enables rapid security decisions without continuous reliance on remote cloud infrastructure. Selected identity and security events may be recorded through tamper-evident blockchain records while sensitive IoT payloads remain externally stored, thereby providing scalable, intelligent, and quantum-resilient protection for smart infrastructure.
