The first UE obtains a first set of parameters related to a set of ranging technologies of the first UE, a set of measurements from the set of ranging technologies of the first UE, and a second set of parameters from at least one application. The first UE selects at least one ranging technology from the set of ranging technologies for positioning or ranging based on the exchanged capability information, the first set of parameters, the set of measurements, and the second set of parameters.
