MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611065618 A) filed by Chandigarh University on May 25, 2026, for Radius-Based Crowdsourced Sos Alert System With Hybrid Ble And Gps Emergency Communication.

Inventor includes Maithli Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a real-time crowdsourced emergency response system configured for personal safety and rapid distress assistance. The system comprises a mobile application, a backend server infrastructure, responder devices, and an optional wearable companion device communicatively connected through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and GPS-based communication networks. The invention enables a user to activate an SOS alert through multiple triggering mechanisms including hardware button sequences, shake gestures, voice commands, wearable panic triggers, and in-application activation. Upon activation, the system captures GPS coordinates and optional audio evidence, encrypts the captured data, and simultaneously broadcasts emergency alerts to nearby opted- in responders and predefined emergency contacts. The system utilizes hybrid BLE mesh propagation and internet-based push notifications to ensure operability in both connected and low-connectivity environments. The invention further incorporates privacy- preserving identity anonymization, anti-false-alarm mechanisms, encrypted communication protocols, automatic data deletion, and responder coordination interfaces for reducing emergency response time and improving personal safety.
