Abstract: With the increasing rise of ransomware attacks, traditional signature-based detection systems are becoming ineffective against new and evolving threats. This paper presents a machine learning-based ransomware detection system that utilizes both static and behavioral analysis of executable files. The system extracts relevant features such as file structure, metadata, and runtime behavior, which are then processed using a trained machine learning model to classify files as benign or malicious. Unlike conventional approaches, the proposed system is capable of detecting previously unseen ransomware by learning patterns from data. The model is deployed for real-time scanning, enabling quick identification and response to potential threats. Experimental results demonstrate improved detection accuracy and efficiency compared to traditional methods. The system is modular, scalable, and suitable for real- world cybersecurity applications, with potential for further enhancement through integration with advanced monitoring systems and deep learning techniques
