MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411096004 A) filed by Lovely Professional University on December 05, 2024, for Rapid Pcr System And Method For Detecting Fungal Pathogens.

Inventor includes Yuman.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The invention is a rapid PCR system for detecting fungal pathogens suited for clinical laboratory settings. The system comprises a sample collection and preparation module that processes clinical samples through cell lysis, inhibitor removal, and DNA concentration to ensure a representative sample for PCR analysis. A DNA extraction and purification module isolates fungal DNA using chemical or mechanical methods. The PCR amplification module, equipped with specific primers, nucleotides, DNA polymerase, and an advanced thermal cycler, performs rapid thermal cycling and multiplex PCR. The detection and analysis module employs real- time PCR technology with fluorescent dyes or probes for real-time monitoring and quantitative analysis of DNA amplification. Then a PCR amplification module to provide quantitative data on fungal load. The data interpretation and reporting module is configured to analyze results, generate reports, and integrate databases of fungal DNA sequences and resistance markers, thereby streamlining the workflow and minimizing contamination risks.
