Abstract: The present invention relates to a web-based waste management system designed to improve the efficiency and transparency of waste handling in residential areas. Traditional waste reporting methods are often manual, unorganized, and lack proper tracking, resulting in delays and poor communication between citizens and authorities. The system provides a centralized platform where citizens can report waste-related issues such as uncollected garbage or improper disposal and track the status of their complaints in real time. It uses role-based access, allowing citizens to raise complaints, area officers (Green Champions) to manage and resolve them, and administrators to monitor all activities through a dashboard. In addition, the system includes an awareness module to educate users about proper waste segregation and responsible disposal practices. It also introduces a simple incentive and warning mechanism to encourage better waste management behaviour. Overall, the invention offers a user-friendly digital solution that enhances communication, improves complaint handling, and promotes cleaner and more sustainable communities.
