Abstract: ABSTRACT Real-Time Distributed Raman Amplifier System for Gain and Error Optimization The present invention discloses a real-time distributed Raman amplifier system for optimisation of signal gain and bit error rate in optical fibre communication networks. The system comprises a simulation-based distributed Raman amplification module configured for forward, backward and bidirectional pumping schemes, a data acquisition and preparation module for generating datasets corresponding to varying transmission parameters, and a gradient boosting-based regression engine for predicting signal gain and bit error rate without repeated simulation. The system further includes a model evaluation module employing statistical indices to validate prediction accuracy. The invention enables simultaneous estimation of gain and error characteristics across multiple wavelength bands under dynamic network conditions, thereby improving transmission performance, reducing computational overhead, and ensuring reliable operation in wavelength division multiplexed optical networks.
