Abstract: ABSTRACT REAL-TIME OBJECT DETECTION SYSTEM WITH AUDIO-HAPTIC FEEDBACK FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED NAVIGATION The present invention relates to a real-time object detection system (100) for assisting visually impaired individuals in navigation. The system comprises an image acquisition module (110) having a camera for capturing real-time video frames, a processing module (120) incorporating a YOLO-based deep learning model for object detection and classification, an audio feedback module (130) with text-to-speech engine for providing verbal descriptions of detected objects, and a haptic feedback module (140) with vibration actuators for conveying spatial information through tactile signals. The system further includes a preprocessing unit (122) for image normalization and resizing, an inference engine (124) for executing the neural network model, and a post-processing unit (126) for filtering detections and generating user-friendly feedback. The integration of dual-modality feedback ensures comprehensive situational awareness in diverse environments including indoor, outdoor, and crowded settings, enabling independent and safe navigation for visually impaired users.
