MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641087896 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 17, 2026, for Real-Time Weather Prediction System Using Multilayer Perceptron Classifier.
Inventors include Dr. Sudha M; and Nitya Agarwal.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT REAL-TIME WEATHER PREDICTION SYSTEM USING MULTILAYER PERCEPTRON CLASSIFIER A method (100) for real-time weather prediction comprises receiving a city-level weather data request (102), acquiring multivariate meteorological parameters via an application programming interface (104), and preprocessing the acquired data (106). The preprocessing includes handling invalid values within the acquired data, removing non-contributory fields from the acquired data, applying label encoding to categorical attributes within the acquired data, and scaling features using a standard scaler. The method (100) further comprises inputting the preprocessed data into a trained multilayer perceptron classifier (108), generating a binary rainfall classification output (110), and outputting the prediction with weather condition summaries (112).
