Abstract: The present invention relates to recyclable floor covering article and methods of making the same, wherein, the article comprises a single material throughout its construction.The present disclosure specifically provides a recyclable floor covering article comprising (i) a primary backing having a front face and a back face, with a plurality of pile yarn tufted to the primary backing, extending from the front face of the primary backing material and exposed at the back face of the primary backing, and (ii) a secondary backing attached to the back face of the primary backing. The plurality of pile yarn, the primary backing and the secondary backing are all made of the same polymer. The entire floor covering article is devoid of any adhesives or external recycling agents.
