Abstract: Title: Recycled silk fibroin-coumarin composite for wound healing patches and preparation method thereof The present invention relates to a biocompatible, non- cytotoxic composite thin film patch and a method for its fabrication. The composite patch comprises a polycaprolactone polymer base, a degummed silk fibroin protein matrix, a polyethylene glycol 400 porogen, and 1% to 2% weight per volume of coumarin as an active agent. The patch exhibits specific FTIR absorption peaks confirming the structural integrity of the blended materials. The sequential fabrication method involves dissolving polycaprolactone, adding polyethylene glycol 400 dropwise, incorporating degummed silk fibroin, blending coumarin, casting the mixture, and drying at room temperature. The resulting patch is highly biocompatible, demonstrating high cell viability between 94.99% and 98.19%, making it suitable for targeted therapeutic drug delivery applications.
