MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611124859 A) filed by Dr. Shakti Kumar; and Mrs. Ramesh Rani on October 19, 2026, for Regulated Direct-Current Power Source With Series-Parallel Connected Magnesium Chloride Electrolyte Cells.

Inventors include Dr. Shakti Kumar; Dr. Sr Pandey; and Raushan Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A regulated battery system comprises two or more cell strings, each having one or more electrochemical cells with a magnesium or magnesium-alloy anode, a cathode and an aqueous magnesium chloride electrolyte. The cells of each string are connected in series, and the strings are connected in parallel between a common negative bus and a common positive node, across the input of a voltage regulator whose output terminals deliver a constant direct-current voltage. The number of cells per string is selected so that the string voltage at the cell cut-off voltage is at least the regulator output voltage plus its dropout voltage, and the fresh string voltage does not exceed the regulator's maximum input, maintaining regulation over the usable discharge. In a preferred embodiment, two strings of four cells feed a 3.3 V regulator, giving a 3.3 V, 2000 mAh battery. A manufacturing method is also disclosed. (Accompanied Drawing: Figure 1)
