MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085397 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on July 13, 2026, for Reinforcement Bar Securing And Holding Fixture For Wire Tying In Concrete Construction.
Inventors include Dr. S. Shasi Anand; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses reinforcement bar securing and holding fixture comprises a bar holding fixture (1) having a cavity slot configured to receive and retain intersecting reinforcement bars in a perpendicular 90-degree orientation at an intersection junction. A criss-cross bar support (2) is provided with segmented cavity formations including dedicated intersection junctions for placing and aligning the bars. Linear adjuster rails (3) enable slidable adjustment and cascading of multiple fixtures in a linear arrangement with specified clearances there between. A locking hub (4) disposed adjacent to each side of the fixture securely holds the fixture in a fixed position along the rails, and a fastening knob (5) provided within each locking hub applies clamping pressure to hold the fixture tightly against the rails. A space for tying metal wire (6) provided at a central portion of the fixture provides clearance to manipulate binding wire around the intersection joint. Cascading fixtures (7) are configured to be inserted through the linear adjuster rails to hold multiple intersection joints simultaneously. Slider hubs (8) provided at the locking hub locations support the linear adjuster rails and facilitate sliding movement thereof. Bar clamping jaws (9) provided adjacent to the cavity slot positively engage and compressively grip the intersecting reinforcement bars at the intersection junction to prevent relative movement during wire tying.
