Abstract: A residence energy management system, comprising multiple distributed sensing nodes configured for appliance-level electrical parameter acquisition, the sensing nodes comprise multiple switch boards 101 installed at electrical nodes within a residence, each switch board 101 integrating a first sensing unit that detects electrical parameters including voltage, current, power, and energy consumption, and multiple sockets 102 embedding a second sensing unit for plug-based appliance monitoring, a processing unit is operatively coupled to the distributed sensing nodes and configured to receive and process electrical parameter data, an automated control arrangement is electrically coupled to the processing unit and configured to control power delivery to appliances based on energy management rules, a user-interface is inbuilt in a computing unit and communicatively coupled to the processing unit and configured to provide remote monitoring, control, and user-driven energy optimization, including input of personalized usage patterns, operating schedules, and target energy budgets.
