Abstract: The titled invention discloses an improved insulin delivery device to address safety, cost, and environmental concerns associated with conventional syringe systems. The system comprises a durable syringe barrel (1) and plunger (2) assembly, along with a detachable, pre-sterilized, single-use needle cap. The needle cap (3) incorporates a mechanically activated automatic locking mechanism that is triggered upon completion of injection, thereby preventing reuse of the needle. In addition, the system includes a visual usage indicator (5) to provide a clear and irreversible color change after use, enabling users to easily identify used components. The system significantly reduces biomedical waste by allowing reuse of the syringe body while ensuring safe disposal of only the needle component. The invention eliminates risks associated with needle reuse, such as infection, contamination, and inaccurate dosing. The device is simple in construction, does not require electronic components, and can be manufactured at low cost, making it suitable for large-scale deployment, particularly in low-resource settings. The invention provides a reliable, safe, and sustainable solution for insulin administration.
