Abstract: Reversible Modular Check Dam System Using Dry Assembly and Mechanical Clamping This invention describes a rapid-deployment and fully reversible check dam system capable of dry assembly without mortar, curing, or complex formwork. The system comprises a reinforced concrete sill beam cast across a streambed and provided with embedded vertically oriented threaded sleeves. Precast interlocking masonry blocks with aligned vertical holes are dry-stacked on the sill beam, and high- strength threaded rods are inserted through the blocks into the sleeves to apply vertical clamping. The interlocking geometry and controlled rod torque provide resistance to hydraulic loads while limiting seepage through optional gaskets or membranes. The structure can be completely dismantled by removing the rods and blocks, with the sill beam sleeves sealed using removable plugs. The invention enables rapid installation, reuse, relocation, and restoration of the riverbed with minimal environmental impact.
