Abstract: The invention relates to vehicle security and driver authentication. A Rightful Driver Authentication System (RDAS) comprises a fingerprint sensing unit (102), an RFID reader (103), a processing controller (101), an authorization data store (104), an ignition control interface (105), a visual display (106), an audio alert unit (107), a driver monitoring unit (108), and a wireless communication interface (109). The controller checks a driver's fingerprint against authorized driver information and, when fingerprint verification is unsuccessful, permits secondary verification using RFID. Based on the verification result, the controller enables or denies an ignition signal through the ignition control interface (105). The driver monitoring unit (108) monitors the driver during vehicle operation and initiates re-authentication when a change or absence of the authenticated driver is detected. The system provides visual and audio indications and supports communication with the authorization-data store (104) for driver-record verification
