MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611072707 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College on June 11, 2026, for Robot-Serviceable Data-Centre Rack System With Mechanically Coded Compute Trays.
Inventors include Dr. Rakesh Srivastava; Ms. Nikita Jaiswal; and Vansh Goriyan.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a robot-serviceable data-centre rack system comprising a rack frame defining tray slots and a compute tray receivable in a selected tray slot along an insertion path. The compute tray comprises a robot-engageable handle, a mechanical coding profile formed by coding ribs, a floating connector block, tapered connector guides, a cable bend-radius guide and a latch-release cam. The selected tray slot comprises a blocking profile formed by wrong-slot blocking projections. Complementary coding and blocking profiles permit receipt of a compatible compute tray and obstruct an incompatible compute tray before connector mating. The tapered connector guides align the floating connector block with a rack connector during docking, while the cable bend-radius guide constrains bending of a cable associated with the floating connector block. The latch-release cam is robotically actuatable through the handle before withdrawal of the compute tray.
