Abstract: S/Se-Functionalized Abnormal N-Heterocyclic Carbene based-Zinc Complexes and the process of preparation thereof In an embodiment, the present disclosure relates to a zinc coordination complex of formula (I) (L)a(Zn)b(X)c (I) wherein Zn is zinc (II) ions; a is 1 to 2; b is 1 to 4; c is 1 to 6; X is selected from the group consisting of Chlorine, iodine, carbazole ring or a combination thereof; and L is a ligand having an abnormal N-heterocyclic carbene of formula (II), (II) wherein E is Sulfur (S) or Selenium (Se), and Dip is 2,6-diisopropylphenyl, and wherein the Zn (II) ions are coordinated to the abnormal N-heterocyclic carbene ligand through one or more sulfur or selenium atoms. The present disclosure also relates to the process of preparation of Zinc (II) coordination complexes of formula (I).
