MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621067648 A) filed by Novaqua Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on May 29, 2026, for Salt Based Liquid Absorbent Composition For Humidity Control And Water Extraction.
Inventors include Jalan, Akshat; and Jalan, Roli.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid absorbent composition for capturing moisture from humid air, comprising a mixture of at least two hygroscopic inorganic salts selected from calcium chloride, lithium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium bromide, lithium bromide, and calcium nitrate, dissolved in a liquid medium. The total concentration of the salt mixture is in the range of 10 wt.% to 70 wt.%. The composition further comprises at least one additive selected from corrosion inhibitors, viscosity modifiers, anti-foaming agents, and anti-crystallization agents. The composition exhibits resistance to crystallization at salt loadings above 30 wt.% and is capable of regeneration at temperatures between 15°C and 90°C. The invention further provides a method for dehumidifying air and extracting water therefrom, and a closed loop system comprising an absorber, a vacuum regeneration unit, a heat exchanger, a condenser, and a circulation system. The disclosed compositions, methods, and systems find application in atmospheric water generation, HVAC moisture control, and industrial drying. (Figure 1)
