The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present invention pertains to an arc chute assembly for low voltage switchgear, specifically focusing on the holding arrangement of de-ion plates to form a complete arc chute assembly. The assembly features an efficient de-ion plate structure stacked together, designed to draw the arc in and divide it into multiple arcs, elongating the arc and raising the arc voltage, which reduces the overall arcing time and enhances the breaking capacity per pole at higher supply voltages. The arc chute assembly (1) comprises Type-1 de-ion plate (4), Type-2 de-ion plate (5), Type-3 de-ion plate (6), bottom de-ion shield (2), and top de-ion shield (3). The de-ion plates are held in place by the top and bottom de-ion shields using a self-locking feature (Click-fit), without the need for crimping or adhesive materials. The assembly sequence involves placing the de-ion plates in their respective slots in the bottom shield and securing them with the top shield. Cross-sectional views demonstrate the precise fitment and alignment of the components, ensuring effective operation. This design ensures ease of assembly, error-proofing, and enhanced efficiency in arc quenching. Figures 1 and 2
