Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to secure user equipment (UE) and satellite communication with local media routing. An apparatus, such as a satellite (e.g., network equipment (NE)), receives, from a first UE, a first request to allocate a first transport Internet protocol (IP) address and port number, and transmits, to the first UE, a response message indicating the first transport IP address and port number. The satellite receives, from a second UE, a second request to allocate a second transport IP address and port number, and transmits, to the second UE, a second response message indicating the second transport IP address and port number. The satellite performs data packet forwarding between the first UE and the second UE according to the first transport IP address and the second transport IP address.
