MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511008897 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 03, 2025, for Secured Handle Locking Assistive Device For Suitcase.

Inventors include Dr. Suyash Kumar Srivastava; and Dr. Gopal Arora.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A secured handle locking assistive device for suitcases, comprises of an inverted U-shaped body 101 constructed with a horizontal member 102 and a pair of vertical extendable members 103, are developed to be mounted on a handle attachment of a suitcase, thereby functioning as the suitcase’s primary handle, a microphone 104 to provide input voice commands for deploying the handle towards the user, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 to determine position of a user’s hand, a cushioned padding 106 to acquire a comfortable grip over the padding 106, a motorized roller 203 coiled with a string 201 constructed with multiple plates to rotate for unwrapping the string 201, a biometric scanner 108 is accessed by the user for scanning the user’s fingerprints, and an electromagnet 107 strategically placed along the vertical members 103 and the horizontal member 102 , to engaged with each other.
