Inventors include Dr. P. Srihari; Dr. V Chitti Babu; Sri. Menda Venkata Ramana; Dr. D. Appa Rao; Sri. P. Devi Prasad; and Sri. D. Bhanu Chandara Rao.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a self-adaptive anti-loosening fastener assembly (10) configured to maintain fastening integrity under vibration, shock loading, and cyclic loading conditions. The self-adaptive anti-loosening fastener assembly (10) comprises a nut body (12) defining an internal cavity, a locking ring (14) disposed within the internal cavity of the nut body (12), a plurality of inclined cam surfaces (16) operatively arranged between the nut body (12) and the locking ring (14), a plurality of radial locking elements (18) positioned adjacent to the locking ring (14), and a biasing spring (20) configured to bias the locking ring (14) toward a default position. Rotational movement of the nut body (12) relative to the locking ring (14) causes the inclined cam surfaces (16) to generate an axial displacement of the locking ring (14), thereby urging the plurality of radial locking elements (18) into increased engagement with a threaded fastener to resist loosening.
